Hilary embry
Hilary has been working as a professional hair stylist and makeup artist for over 15 years. She began her career in Las Vegas where she attended the Euphoria Institute of Beauty Arts and Sciences, and went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in communication studies and journalism from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Hilary’s experience ranges from styling high fashion events to creating healthy, wearable styles in the salon. Hilary likes to give her clients personalized cuts and colors that they are able to recreate at home, so they can enjoy a “just left the salon” fabulous look every day. She is trained in several professional color and product lines and continues to develop her product knowledge with extensive hands-on training.
Along with creating the perfect everyday looks for her clients, Hilary specializes in wedding styling. She has been named The Knot’s Best of Weddings 5 years in a row for hair and makeup in Kansas City.

Macie sanko
Macie began her career in the cosmetology industry in 2014, and specializes in vivid colors and balayage. Macie uses a combination of Keune Color & Pulp Riot Color to make her clients’ hair dreams come true. Every haircut is tailored to each individual's growth pattern, facial features, and styling routine to send clients home with confidence in their at home maintenance. Macie regularly attends continuing education classes in advanced hair-cutting, coloring, and product knowledge to further expand her knowledge and grow within the industry. She also provides Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatments, Hot Heads extension applications, makeup, and special occasion hair.

BRYON wilcoxson
Bryon has an immense passion for educating clients in product knowledge, styling tips, and hair color. Bryon attended hair school directly out of high school and has been practicing for over ten years. He offers a variety of specialty services, including men’s cuts, foils and balayage, hair styling, permanent waves, grey blending, facial waxing, and more. Bryon is excited to learn and grow in the industry, and he is always ready to face new and exciting challenges.

Abby buller
Abby is a Kansas City native. She married right after high school in 2019 and moved to Southern California, where she graduated from Paul Mitchell The School in Temecula, CA. She moved back to Kansas City in 2021 to begin her career as a hair stylist. She spent a year doing extensive hands-on training with Hilary (the owner of Halcyon Studio), gaining knowledge and experience in all aspects of the salon world. She loves all color services, especially lived-in and low maintenance looks. Abby is now taking clients of her own, and she is excited to continue learning, growing, and thriving in her salon home.

Over the past 15 years, Heather has traveled the country, bringing her unique blend of expert technique, emphasis on detail, and love of the craft to her clients. Originally from Kansas City, she is proud to say that “there’s no place like home.” Her specialities include blondes, Hotheads hair extensions, and Brazilian Blowouts. When she is behind the chair, she customizes each service to create her client’s ultimate look. She believes that beauty services should be a pampering experience. This guides her in everything she does, from the first consultation to the color, haircut, and final styling. Heather looks forward to serving her hometown and bringing your beauty vision to life!

Janice has been working as a professional hair stylist for the past decade, beginning with a year-long internship. Her positive spirit is contagious and will put you at ease while collaborating to determine a look that will make you shine! She has been recognized as Kansas City’s go-to person for curly hair and teaching people how to tame and enhance their curly locks. Her repertoire includes haircuts, balayage, bright all over coloring, and highlighting. She also offers keratin treatments and both hand-tied and tape-in extensions. Janice is a passionate Kansas City native and there’s nothing she loves more than a stout cup of black coffee. Many of Janice’s friends have become clients, and it’s safe to say that all of her clients have become friends.

Doug's love of being behind the chair is hard to match! They are incredibly passionate about helping people feel their most beautiful, whether that involves a new color, a fun cut, or just some time set aside to be pampered! They love the connection made between a stylist and their client, and immensely enjoy each conversation they have with people in their chair.
Doug’s truest love when it comes to hair is all things curly. If they could have all day filled with curly hair, it would be their paradise! They understand that curly-haired people can struggle to find a stylist to work with their hair type, so they have put in the work to make sure those people can feel at home in their chair.

LISETTE LOPEZ
Lisette graduated from Paul Mitchell The School in Columbia, MO. She specializes in enhancement nails and nail art, offering both acrylic nails and manicure services. Her ultimate goal in every acrylic set is to give her clients something they can work with everyday while still keeping their nails as healthy as possible. She wants everyone to have their dream set, so they can not only look great but feel great! Lisette makes sure to always stay up to date on the latest nail trends as well as new ways to improve her work.

Stephanie has been in the beauty industry for over two decades, starting with a cosmetology license specializing in color and extensions, and on to education/mentoring. She continued her education by applying her artistic eye into the permanent makeup world, and did an apprenticeship to also earn her license in body art. Stephanie has completed 9 master classes from the world’s top leading artists in the industry. She offers us the latest techniques in eyebrows, lip blushing, and eyeliner enhancements from bold all the way to subtle and natural. She is one of the only dual-licensed and insured artists in the KC metro area. She is also one of the first to offer Nanolines, an advanced technique that simulates strokes of hair via a machine instead of a blade (aka microblading). Stephanie’s passion is to make people feel beautiful and complete with long term solutions. And for some of us, that’s waking up in our makeup!

SUSAN saskin
Susan was born and raised in Montreal. She started her career as a fashion designer, working in Montreal and New York. She went on to study makeup artistry, and became the resident artist for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in Las Vegas and then in Kansas City. With over 15 years in the industry, Susan has developed a true passion for bridal and event makeup. She is also available to share her knowledge in makeup lessons offered at Halcyon Studio.
